The scoring rulebook

The rulebook is the airline’s own, and every threshold in it is editable. These are the things it can measure.

Touchdown

Landing rate in fpm, peak g at touchdown, distance from the runway threshold in metres, float time between 30 ft and the wheels, harsh braking on the roll, and spoilers not armed.

Approach

Speed outside the Vref to Vref+20 window at the 1,000 and 500 ft gates, altimeter not on QNH at the gate that counts, landing lights off on final, and landing with no flaps.

Take-off

Beacon, navigation, anti-collision and landing lights required on, and flaps not at zero when the wheels leave the ground.

Airmanship

Over 250 kt below 10,000 ft, maximum IAS of the flight, maximum taxi speed, and transponder set to 0000 or switched off.

Fuel and weight

Landed below final reserve, lowest endurance in minutes at the worst moment of the flight, landed above the MLW declared for that aircraft, and loaded outside the centre-of-gravity limits from the POH.

Navigation

Track length against the great circle (1.05 to 1.15 is normal), and how far the aircraft strayed from the nearest point of the SimBrief route.

Why it exists

None of this exists to punish people. It exists so that flying it properly is what earns the score, and so two pilots on the same sector are held to the same standard.
